I am an elder indigenous woman of the Saami people of Sweden. I work with the National Union of Swedish Saami People, a non-governmental organization, as a cultural advocate. The National Union of Swedish Saami People is one of nine member organizations of the Saami Council, representing the Saami People in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Russia. It promotes Saami rights and interests in the four countries where they live.
